Welcome!

The Bruny Island Boat Club was incorporated in April 2005 with the aim to improve boating facilities on Bruny Island and to encourage ‘safe boating fun’ by organising a series of events throughout the year.

Welcome to the Bruny Island Boat Club!

The Club was established after there was a threat of closure for permanent moorings on the Alonnah Pontoon.  The Club proactively liaised with the community and Kingborough Council and now has a formal Lease Agreement to manage the area for everyone’s enjoyment.

Today the Club is managed by a dedicated committee who strive to provide the most enjoyable and safe boating experiences possible.

Our very first project was the Pontoon at Alonnah, Bruny Island, and our most recent is the lobbying of Council to install public toilets in the area (expected to be constructed in early 2017).

Work continues on providing seven finger piers for Club moorings. Five have been installed with the other two to be completed in the near future.

The finger piers are available for long or short term hire to club members, or with prior arrangement, for overnight use by visiting vessels.  Further details are available on our berthing page.

The Club will continue to look at all other boating access areas on the island to improve facilities and safety aspects.

Safe Boating!
